Our Next Competition

Topic: LGBTQ+ Rights and Acceptance

Dates: The sign up deadline is December 23. The competition begins on December 26 and ends on January 13. Winners will be announced January 27.

Nonprofit partner: GenderCool’s mission is to replace misinformed opinions with POSITIVE, powerful experiences meeting awesome trans and non-binary young people. Their Tagline is “Who we Are, not What we Are”. GenderCool shows the world how remarkable trans and non-binary young people are. They are future CEOs, writers, doctors, and more. Each song should therefore focus on GenderCool’s mission in addition to the overall prompt because the winning song will be used in GenderCool’s new promotional materials.

How It Works

No experience necessary, just a passion for music!

1. Sign Up

Fill out the form to sign up. You can participate as an individual or a pair. If you do not have your own partner, you can indicate that you’d like to be matched with another participant on the form. Once you sign up, you will confirm your entry via email.

2. Write Music About An Important Cause

Songs Against Silence strives to help young people learn about important problems and create meaningful music to spread awareness. Each competition has a different theme.

3. Submit For A Chance To Win

Oftentimes young songwriters are overlooked. Songs Against Silence offers High School and College students the chance to be acknowledged and rewarded for their talents by professional songwriters and musicians.
